In the Kurdistan Region, a similar arrangement has been put in place; many universities established their ICDL centers and required post-graduate students to take the ICDL training programs.

The foundation is absorbing the cost of conducting training workshops for staff members who will manage and operate the ICDL-accredited centers. To further help cut the financial cost of implementing the ICDL program in all public universities, ICDL GCC is also securing funds from third-party sources such as UN bodies and industry leaders. All these achievements were made possible by the harmonious relationships which ICDL has built with all its stakeholders and its policy of vendor neutrality and noncommercial interest toward promoting digital skills within the educational sector.
